Empowering communities in Haiti with SEINZ®
TO OFFSET ITS PLASTIC USE AND HELP ACHIEVE ITS SUSTAINABILITY COMMITMENTS, SEINZ BY DM SPONSORED THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PLASTIC BANK COLLECTION CENTER IN TARBARRE, HAITI.
With SEINZ’s financial support, Plastic Bank was able to empower Tarbarre community members in Haiti to collect ocean-bound plastic, which they can exchange for premiums that provide them with basic family necessities such as groceries, cell service, cooking fuel and health care. Over the past year, the SEINZ center has supported the collection of over 17,000 kg of plastic, preventing over 800,000 plastic bottles from entering the ocean. In addition, this partnership has helped increase collector incomes in Tarbarre, Haiti more than 65% and has impacted over 200 community members.
